Jennifer Russ lives and writes in St. Louis, Missouri. She spent a decade in Northern California engaging with psychological and spiritual healing practices after losing both her parents to cancer by her mid-20s.

She studied English Literature at Yale University and Creative Nonfiction at Pacific University, where she wrote her master’s thesis, The Alphabet of Grief, on caregiving, loss, and renewal. She has taught English and creative writing to teens, and currently works as a copywriter in the fields of psychology, wellness, and personal growth.

Jenn also volunteers at a local Grief Center supporting people going through grief, and she has led Expressive Writing workshops to help individuals move through challenging transitions with self-compassion.
